Who is Artepaca?
Artepaca is the trade name for the artist, Pete Hawke.
Hailing from Western Australia, he grew up surrounded by windswept beaches and dry rural landscapes. Now currently back in Queensland, Australia, the natural world continues to inspire his work. An admiration for the serenity found in secluded forests, mountains and shores fuels his acrylic and gouache paintings. Strong feelings of nostalgia brings inspiration into digital illustrations, which contain beauty in the mundane or overlooked.
His work is found in the homes of locals and is sold in person only at markets, trade fairs and conventions.
